Originally from Sydney, Australia, Lee began home brewing as a casual hobby. He dedicated his spare time to experimenting with various brewing techniques, creating unique and exceptional flavors that soon gained recognition among the craft brewing community. In fact, he was awarded several regional and national medals, including the National Homebrew Competition for three consecutive years. Most recently, his popular South Island Pilsner received the silver medal in the New Zealand Pilsner category at the 2023 US Open Beer Championship.
With his talent for brewing and entrepreneurial spirit, Lee has turned his passion for craft brewing into a full-fledged business. The “Side Hustle” moniker was a nod to a relentless work ethic shared and appreciated by so many, balancing passion for brewing with a full-time career. Today, he continues to set Side Hustle Brewing Co. apart with his exceptional ability to blend traditional brewing techniques with bold and daring flavors.

Meet The Team
Amelia Keefe
Head Brewer
After studying Philosophy and backpacking overseas, Amelia fell in love with traditional historic styles of beer and dove deep into home brewing. She graduated from The American Brewers Guild in Middlebury, Vermont with a degree in Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering and began her professional brewing career. She was head brewer of River Dog Brewing here in the Lowcountry for six years and has won handfuls of awards including two GABF and four US Open medals!
She looks forward to sharing her endless passion and creativity for creating superior craft beer for everyone at The Bank and Side Hustle Brewing Co.
Matthew Tkaczuk
Head Brewer
Matt’s career in the brewing industry began in Connecticut shortly after visiting a craft brewery for the first time. After a few years of learning the craft, he took a chance on himself and moved to South Carolina to continue his pursuit of brewing high quality craft beer. He spent the last seven years at Southern Barrel Brewing Co., where his commitment as the Packaging Supervisor led to a role as Assistant Brewer, and then to the coveted career Head Brewer where he worked directly with their Brew Master.
Matt is incredibly honored to be part of the Side Hustle Brewing Co. team and looking for innovative ways to brew great beer.
